I bought a little Gadsden flag patch at the Brandywine Battlefield in Pennsylvania last week. I doubt most of the people (from back east) who go through the gift shop there give it has the same significance most westerners give it.

I have seen a variant of the Gasden flag, where the snake is striking. I thought it was pretty cool.
